LBR’s Lexology & Legal Verticals Brand Alignment
Law Business Research is a global publishing, events, and business intelligence organisation serving the legal sector. Following a major merger in 2018, the combined portfolio consisted of more than 15 established brands spanning publications, events, digital platforms, and specialist legal products.
While the product offerings complemented one another, the visual identities across the portfolio had evolved independently over time, resulting in a fragmented brand landscape with little consistency between brands.
As Head of Design, I led the brand alignment programme, bringing together brand owners, stakeholders, and senior leadership to establish a more cohesive visual ecosystem while respecting the individual equity and recognition of each brand.
The project involved facilitating workshops, stakeholder discussions, and collaborative design sprints to identify shared visual principles and create a framework that could be applied consistently across the portfolio. Rather than introducing a single uniform identity, the objective was to create alignment, clarity, and stronger visual relationships between brands while preserving their distinct roles within the wider organisation.
Working closely with my team and stakeholders across the business, I directed the development and rollout of the new visual system across print, digital, editorial, marketing, and event communications.
The project not only improved consistency and recognition across the portfolio but also established a scalable foundation for future growth, creating a more unified experience across the organisation's products, platforms, and events.
