Don’t Get Cocky - Letterpress Project
This university project explored traditional letterpress printing, focusing on the physicality, constraint, and craftsmanship of pre-digital typesetting processes.
I created a short narrative composition using ornamental and display type, experimenting with layout, texture, and typographic hierarchy to communicate tone through form rather than imagery.
Working within the limitations of letterpress printing encouraged a more deliberate and structured approach to composition, where spacing, weight, and placement became key expressive tools.
The project developed my understanding of typographic rhythm and the materiality of print, and highlighted the expressive potential of traditional printing techniques within contemporary visual communication.
